Since September 2026, the WALD.WEIT Rheingau Hotel & Retreat has been a member of the Lifestyle Collection by Preferred Hotels & Resorts. This makes the hotel part of the world’s largest independent hotel brand, which today brings together more than 625 individual hotels, resorts and residences in 80 countries. 
For WALD.WEIT, this step is something special. The hotel has been fully operational since February 2025. Just over a year later, this young establishment from Kiedrich now finds itself part of an international portfolio of independent hotels. What exactly does Preferred Hotels & Resorts mean? 
Preferred Hotels & Resorts is not a traditional hotel chain. The hotels within the portfolio remain independent and retain their own identity. They are united by shared quality standards, international visibility and a commitment to offering unique hotel experiences with a distinct character.
The portfolio is currently divided into four collections: Legend, L.V.X., Lifestyle and Preferred Residences. The WALD.WEIT will become part of the Lifestyle Collection. Preferred describes this collection as offering accessible luxury, individual style and local character – with hotels that consciously bring their respective destinations and their distinctiveness to life. 
Membership is also underpinned by specific quality standards. Member hotels must meet the ‘Preferred Standards of Excellence’. Compliance is verified, amongst other things, through annual anonymous on-site inspections carried out by independent experts.
